THANKSGIVING DINNER
"The Bird is the Word" Everyone loves a robust Thanksgiving dinner with Turnkey and all sides.
One 15-25 pnd turkey (cook at 325 20 minutes per pound) take out guts and clean and wash
OLD FASHIONED STUFFING
4 bags croutons with seasoning and 4 boxes of corn bread mix
8 eggs (for corn bread)
7 yellow onions and 4 stalks of celery
1 bottle of sage and 1 bottle of poultry seasoning
Salt and Pepper and Chicken stock
*chop the celery and onions they set aside
prepare and cook the cornbread in two pyrex dishes (follow directions on box for Johnny cake) then cool.
combine celery and onions with corn bread and croutons, then add seasoning from crouton bag
salt and pepper 1 tablespoon each to start and add half bottle of both sage and poultry seasoning
toss with clean hands , then add chicken stock slowly and toss
add stock again until stuck together a bit (not mushy) , then add the rest of seasonings and salt and pepper to taste.
DIRECTIONS
Stuff the turkey
put in turkey pan with rack
drench with olive oil and salt and pepper outside.
cover with tin foil and bake 325 for 20 mins per pound. Then
last 45 mins or so turn up to 350 and take off tin foil to brown
all around. Serve and enjoy
